Update: NYE, NOLA, & Randomness

Woooowwww. 2010 is already bringing out some randomness. So, I'm at home, suffering the wrath that is mi familia, wishing I could teleport myself somewhere. And guess who sends me a text??? The Old Man. The last-time he actually contacted me was about 8 months ago. So needless to say I was quite surprised. One simple line:

"I miss my kitten. Happy New Year "

The kitten, he's referring to, yep you guessed it...

Other randomness going on in no particular order:

7. Before I left, Devin & I went to The Roots concert. Good-times.

6. NYE with POW. One word. Adventure. So we really didn't have any plans. Actually, my plan was to stay home and sleep. But POW convinced me to go out. So we get out. Listen to a band, see some randomness, then get some late night breakfast. We try to leave.....and the car breaks down. Let me rephrase that. The car breaks down, on New Years Eve, and it's like 10 degrees outside....and the adventure went down from there....I'll let POW tell you the rest. I'm still trying to recover.

5. I have only been home for 4.1 days and I was ready to go on day 2.

4. I'm having a little birthday thing when I get back to the city, then I promptly leave out again for New Orleans

3. The end of Mr. Henry....he called me to assess how mad I was, by pretending nothing ever happened. Don't worry, the rest of that is coming.

2. Island Prince John called me and asked me to come visit him for Carnival.

1. The NOLA plan: So Brian lives about an hour away from NOLA. We are splitting a hotel for the weekend, so we don't have to drive back and forth. Right now, the plan is no plan. Just hang out, drink, and have fun.....T-minus 3 days to NOLA. T-minus 2 till the BIG 3-0!

Weekend = Wet

Short, sweet & wet = my weekend

Despite the weather being just bit of a damper, I managed to squeeze in a bit of fun. Nothing to jump up and down about and get excited over, but just enough to wet my taste buds. Thursday night, I went to a chill lounge with chick friends. It wasn’t a party like it’s 1999 time, but I loved the vibe and music and people. I can see me hanging there every Thursday night.

My trip to Philly ended up getting cancelled for Saturday. Despite that small blip, I still went to a friends bon voyage party. She pretty much got trashed and I was the sober one...what can I say. Guess I’m “chilling”.

Yesterday was the movies with Jason. It was cool, our typical movie “un-date”. All in all it was pretty low-key (read: ehhh according to my party standards!!!)

There were no Mr. Henry rendezvous, no new guys, although old one’s try to resurface, i.e. texts from Latino Papi Alex and a call from Island Prince John.

One Year Anniversary - The Rebuttal

Ok, first let me preface this with “P.O.W. I love you”, but I think you’ve been drinking on the job again! Or maybe you have selective amnesia. In any case, there are good reasons the secrets debauchery you decided to reveal. Case in point, with:

#5. Ummm, I plead the 5th, unless you have pictures of said crime and furthermore I was stressed. The name we shall not mention had me stressed, college life had me stressed, so ok...I consumed like two Boonesfarm's and washed it down with Lord knows what. Why in the hell did you and Breezy let me get on top of my car??? Actually, come to think of it, where were you guys? I don’t recall. In any case that night was pretty fun! And you know what, the roof popped back into place perfectly the next day. So case solved & closed!

Oh but with - #4. I needed some fresh air, so I decided to go outside. And in my defense I was only naked under my blanket. I think you, Chuck & his friend pulled it off as I was clutching it for dear life. But at least I wasn’t the one doing cartwheels down the street naked!

And why, oh why in - #3 Did you bring up the name we shall not mention. The mere thought of him makes me want to puke. I still don’t know why that asshole rented a TV, but he couldn’t go half on food, rent, lights...so glad he got the boot and jail time

Yes #2 from what I recall was lots and lots of fun. But I don’t recall breaking my table or destroying the bathroom. Do you have evidence. Nope? Ok, then it didn’t happen!

Oh boy, I didn’t see the kiss in #1 coming. It was kinda like a “goodnight kiss” or a “birthday kiss” in any case he was a gentleman and didn’t push the envelope too much more. And as for the whole two guys in one bed. I blogged about it. Remember???

Yes, I can’t wait for Vegas either! I started mentally packing this morning!

One Year Anniversary - The Take Over

Introducing P.O.W…..

For those of you that do not know me, I am P.O.W, Diva’s BFF. I want to take this opportunity to thank you, Diva, for being such a caring, giving, loving and understanding BFF. I don’t think I could have made it this far without you.

Anyway, I am taking over Diva’s Blogspot to celebrate her One Year Blogoversary. Yes, can you believe it? It has been one year since Diva first graced us with her witty commentary and horrid dates. This year has been filled with highs, lows, smiles, cries, joys and toolery. We all have our favorite Diva moments, but I’m going to share some moments Diva did not share with you….and Diva you better post them. DO NOT EDIT!!!!!

P.O.W.’s Top Five Most Memorable Diva Moments

5. August 2001, Divaland University, The Case of the Vandalized Car

Diva got extremely inebriated and danced on the roof of her car at a neighborhood block party. The next morning she is screaming and yelling about somebody vandalizing her car. We politely told her "you did it, don't you remember"? To this day, she still doesn’t believe she was the cause of the butt print indent in her roof.

Oh yeah, and I think we made up a drunk song that night!

4. July 2001 Detroit, MI, Happy Birthday to Me!!!

There was a lot of debauchery going on for my 21st birthday. After playing truth or dare, and tons of Bacardi, I can’t find Diva so I go looking for her. She’s on the porch, "buckkid nekkid". Why? I don’t know. You have to ask her that question, but also remember I woke up at 7am looking for the liquor trying to erase the memory of the sins from the night before.

3. October 2001 Divaland University, Three Strikes You’re Out

Diva has an ex-boyfriend whose name we shall not mention. We all have a relationship that we would rather forget, a momentary lapse in judgment. This guy was Diva’s lapse. Diva and I lived in a town house with another roommate, I’ll call her Breezy. “The name we shall not mention” moved in with us (1st strike). He didn’t have a job (2nd strike). He had a big screen TV that he rented from Rent-a-Center (how & why I don't know) we kept in the living room. One day while Diva was at work, Breezy and I were watching TV. TNWSNM came in and turned the channel (3rd strike). He made a big deal about it being HIS television. Breezy politely unplugged the TV and pushed all 52’ inches on to the patio. She told him to see how well he watched his TV on the corner.

I don't remember what happened after that, but this was the same guy Diva & Breezy tried to collect the "reward" money on a month or so later. Rightfully so, I might add!

2. September 2008, Washington D.C. - Sour Sauce

Diva and I went on a double date with Island Prince and his friend Willard. It was a beautiful date with lots of food, liquor, and dancing. Anytime liquor is involved, we either don’t remember or wish we couldn’t remember what happened the next day. This time was no exception.

Somehow, Diva’s bedside table got broke and her bathroom was destroyed *cough islandprince&diva cough*. It must have been an incredible evening because the boys woke up the next day cooking and cleaning!

1. Later, September 2008, NYC - Smooches

Diva spends the evening with Island Prince in New York. That night IP’s brother kisses her. She wakes up with two men in her bed….I’ll let her tell the rest

Love ya Diva!!!! Can't wait for Vegas...

Just Say No

"And on the 9th day, Diva rested..."

I was going to do this earlier, then I got side tracked, then I went salsa dancing....but here's the overview of my vodka filled week. Yes week! I went out 6 days out of the last 8...

9. Island Prince called me tonight. We actually had a better conversation. His English is improving, or my French translation switch is working. I found out he no longer lives with his baby's mama, cause she high-tailed it to France, his brother had twins, and he wants to see me...in his words..."very, very soon".

8. Ummm. Brian & I hung out Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Yes Sunday. Although I haven't seen the movie, I feel like saying..."I can't quit you"... Oh, and he likes the flask. We put it to good use on Saturday!

7. Apparently when I drink, I give up all of the info. You can ask me anything, anything. Atleast that's what I was told on Sunday, by a guy I met Saturday night. Why is liquor the truth serum? The government needs to start a new program and give all suspected "bad guys" shots of vodka...it works like a charm. Maybe I should be the Director of the program...you know, administer the vanilla vodka shots...

6. Tony sent me the following text message on Friday - "Maybe I should keep this to myself, but I've been thinking about u in the wrong ways. U were the best sexually I ever had"...

5. I do hang with other people besides Brian. Friday night I hung with the chick friends....uhhh, I was home by midnight.

4. Thanks Tunde and Blk Bond...I did some "research"...

3. I went salsa dancing tonight with P.A.T.T. No Old Man sightings, I had a really good time. I forgot what great exercise it is! I definitely need to get back into it.

2. I'll admit, after receiving Tony's text, I thought about inviting him over to conduct some "research". But then I remembered why I had to stop dealing with him...crazy, crazy, crazy.

1. I'm going to "try" (key word: TRY) to lay low this week/weekend. It's so hard to do when you live in D.C. and there's something to do every night of the week. I'm sure my liver, kidney's and bank account will thank me for it!

Revisiting The "O" & The Weekend

I've been revisiting the whole no-orgasm thing...

To start my weekend off tonight (remember, weekends start on Thursdays), Mr. Henry and I are hanging out. I started to think about the times I came close to getting the BIG ONE with him. For the most part, every close "O", was preceded by a fight. So that's it right!?! I should start a fight with him, so we can have wild make-up head board banging sex. I got nothing I'm mad about though... even when we had the whole "relationship" discussion last week, and he brought up us getting relationship counseling, cause I know how to push his buttons, and he pushes mine sometimes (uhhh, we aren't on that marriage trek)...it was kind of like whatever.

Like this whole on again, off again thing is getting old. We go through phases where one of is is into it more than the other, and right now, it's his phase. When he brought up the relationship counseling thing, images of balls & chains and wedding bells came to mind. Uh, isn't that for people who plan on getting married soon? Did I miss his memo on something. Me & Mr. Henry, relationship counseling???

In Other News:

Yesterday, it was good hearing from Island Prince. I think it's cute how he's trying to keep the lines of communication open (not on my $1.99 per minute International rate!). He tried to tell me about the protests that's going on in his country, re wages & France something or other, but a lot of it got lost in translation. Then we talked about the whole, "when are we going to see each other again thing".

Brian called (as expected...like clockwork). He asked me if I was mad about the whole strip club thing again (he brought it up on Monday). I told him no, but "our relationship isn't that serious, we don't talk about serious things". Then he tried to cover his tracks, and said, I never talk about guys I'm fucking (his words, not mine). He values our friendship & didn't mean it that way, blah, blah, blah. I changed the subject. We talked about his "orders", (he'll be in Louisiana, not Texas as expected) the going away shindig he's throwing and what we were going to do this weekend. Nothing concrete as I have "happy hour" plans on Friday and a work function Saturday morning. I temporarily restored his number.

This weekend I'm going to resurrect the aborted Mission. This time, I'll make sure my new buddy isn't as hot. He's got to be:
easy on the eyes (for sure)
able to hold his liquor (unlike that one Tool I met)
willing to bar, club & hop Country (passport a must)

Hookah, Jello Shots & NY

As you know, my weekends start on Thursday, and what’s a weekend without Brian??? Thursday night, Brian, myself & one of his college friends hung out like the apocalypse was coming. We started off at a Hookah bar, the next thing you know, we stumbled upon Karaoke, then some dive-ish looking place that was playing hip hop. Brian & I ended up hanging till almost 3am. I was hurting the next day, seeing as how I had to be up & out the house by 6am...and all he had to was catch a flight. I won’t let him talk me into staying out that late anymore on a work night. I was so tired and out-of it on Friday I stayed in.

Saturday, I made my way to NY. When I thought about it, I hadn’t been to NY since Island Prince was here back in September! P.A.T.T. and I had a blast. Bar hopping by NYU, feeding jello shots to unsuspecting guys at the bar, dancing to Prince at the Groove, and jumping up and down like some college girls to some unknown rock cover band, to music we didn’t know the words to (and probably never heard of), and walking in the door at 4am! Good times.

Last night, when I got back I was supposed to hang out with Jason. He ended up canceling which I was ok with, since I was still recovering. We are going to the movies today. It’s not a date, but it will be our first time hanging out since we went to Happy Hour. I’ll let you know how it goes.

In Other News:

Thursday night, Mr. Henry tried to get me to come over his house. We exchanged tons of sext (risqué texts) messages, only for me to turn him down. I know, somewhat of a tease right? Earlier Thursday, I seen him after work, and a few hours later, he called me, to tell me how deliciously nice, he thought I looked. I’ve been turning him down since early March, and he’s still trying...hmmm.

The Tools haven’t let-up. In total last week, between the two of them, I received thirty-something text messages, and I don’t remember how many calls....it’s always the one’s you wouldn’t touch with a 10foot pole....ugh. So annoying.

The Unmentionables

Just because I haven't blogged about them, doesn't mean they don't exist, or attempt to keep the lines of communication open. Case in point, Chris. Haven't talked to him since October. I never called because everything was so SUBPAR (I had a better time at the doctor's office). I don't know why he never called. Well today he sent me a text. Uhhhh. Hmmmm. I don't think he got the MEMO. Here's the rundown on some of the OTHERS

Latino Papi Alex - He sends me a text at least once a week, sometimes in English sometimes in Spanish. I don't remember when our last verbal conversation was, but I do remember telling him that it's OK to call me, and I get tired of text messages...hence the reason I don't respond...guess he didn't get the MEMO either, maybe I should have said it in Spanish.

Akeem - I talked to him around my birthday. He wanted to know if he could show me some kind of demonstration with some product he's trying to sell (hawk to unsuspecting buyers).

Island Prince John - He calls me from time to time. The conversations are always the same. "When are you coming to see me", "I miss you". He called on Tuesday, and we had an ok conversation, but I think some things still get lost in translation...like hmmm, "Don't you live with your baby's mama?" I asked him if I come to visit, where am I going to stay. He said, and I quote "very, very close to me. Just know, no hotels ok? I'll make arrangements". Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but "very, very close" does not equal "with me" or "I no longer live with my baby's mama, I.e. live in girlfriend". Hmmm, I need someone to translate something to him in French for me...

Jamaican Friend - I haven't named him yet, but he's been calling and texting me consistently (TOO MUCH) since I got back. He knows I'll be back in Jamaica in February, and he's definitely trying to stay in my good graces. Thing is, I really don't plan on hanging out with him when I go back. He was ok, sweet, a little aggressive, not too bad. We made out a bit when I was there, but, well he didn't get my MEMO..."I don't do long distance".

Brian - Went home for the weekend (I.e. West Coast). Awe, I miss my hang out buddy.

Happy 100th Of Sorts

Today is my 100th post. And although I have some juicy news, I need to get this out the way...

How the blog should have started...
It should have started 3 years ago. My best male friend Chuck was here visiting me and we went on a clubbing (drinking) spree. I met 10 guys in four days and made it my mission to go on a date with all of them. Some(ALL) I met under the pretense of beer goggles, uhhh, the glass eye guy comes to mind. Each day after the dates, I’d e-mail my friends a blurb to tell them how it went. They crack the hell up, and tell me I’m brave, funny, hilarious, should go on more dates so they could laugh at my expense (j/k). In any case, one out of the 10 was cute; Papi Chulo JC who was 5 years younger...can we say rob the cradle???.

The following year Mr. Henry moved to DC and lived (mooched) with me for 11 months. They were the worst 11 months of my life. Ok, not that bad, but it progressively got worse with each passing month. I was cleaning up after him, supporting him, cooking for him, sexing him on a daily basis. Damn, I felt like a F’n wife on lock down. I wasn’t dating anyone else, but I had my suspicions that he was dating other people. (we didn’t have the title of bf/gf either) After he moved out, I had a dry spell. I met some guys, but it was all a blur...

...then Jamaica happened. I don’t know what it was, but the first time I went, I came back a new woman. I mean, it was like guys were coming out of the woods and emerging from the sea when I got back. Then I went back to Jamaica to drink some more MAGIC WATER...and the blog was a sparkle in my eye, on the way to being born.

2008 Was A Good Year.
I decided to start writing my blog after my second trip to Jamaica (May 2008). I met soooo many guys in 2008, more than my college years (well, maybe they are tied). Granted all of the guys weren’t worth mentioning, but I noticed a trend...I was having a F’n blast. There was a time (a long, long time ago) when female friends and I would sit around complaining about the LACK of available GOOD MEN, how HARD it was to find a man, blah, blah, blah. Those days are LONG GONE. I’ve learned SOOO much from my dating experiences (and male friends) that I became a NEW dater. I’ll reveal my dating philosophies later (they will be on sale for $9.99!!!).

Direction.
When I wrote my first blog, I wasn’t sure what direction to go in or how much I should REVEAL about myself and the guys. I tried to change some identifying facts (so my secret identity will remain secret) about myself and the daters, with a little practice (after about the 4th or 6th entry) I had it! So here’s how I name the guys (with the exception of 1 or 2). I make sure the first letter of their name remains the same (as not to confuse myself). For example. If someone’s name is John, I may change their name to Jacob... something like that. Also, if you noticed, I don’t use pictures, instead, I wanted my words to create an image. I wanted to describe my dates, dating experiences in a lighthearted humorous way...(I’m still attempting to be humorous...not working, but whatever).

Initially.
I didn’t think anyone would read my blog, but then I had my first commenter! My blog brother SBM in NOVA. He was the only person for a long time (unless there were lurkers... reveal yourself!) who’d read and comment and act as a sounding board. (Thanks Hun!) I started reading his crazy, yet entertaining blog and kept writing because it became therapeutic and it was sort of a diary for myself. Then my Wildcherry happened! Although he never comments on here, (where are you???) for some reason he liked my writing style and asked me if I wanted to publish some articles on his awesome blog. Then I found my blog sister Mz. Mami, and became addicted to reading and blogging, and lurking on other blogs. (You can find other blogs I follow under my profile!)

Now What?
Last year, I had fun, ups and downs and conflicts. For example, Island Prince John. (For those who used their imagination with that situation. Thanks!!!) Then I had some really sad moments, i.e. killing Mr. Henry (although he managed to resurrect himself). In any case 2008 was a great year.

What do I want for 2009??? I have no F’n clue. Hence the Old Man and Tony. All I know is I NEED to write. It’s my daily therapy and it’s free! So thanks for reading, feel free to comment (I love your p.o.v. even if I don’t agree with it). And wish me dating luck for 2009!!!

Unknown Callers

I knew this was going to happen. That's why I frantically looked for my phone ( and lost my buzz during the process) Friday night. Anyways, tonight has been quite eventful. The Old Man and I made last minute plans to hang out, but once again, he was acting indecisive (which I hate), I wanted to say "Just make up your fucking mind and choose something, be spontaneous, I told you I didn't care", but I didn't. I talked to him at 6ish. Told him to choose something, anything, that I would be ready at 9pm. Well he must have taken his Geritol or whatever Old people take that makes them sleepy or whatnot.

7:50ish pm

Old Man: Hey
Me: Hi, What's up
Old Man: It's me
Me: I know, what's up
Old Man: What are you doing, are you still taking care of your business (I had a list of stuff to do), do you need more time?
Me: I'm working on it now, I'll be ready when you get here
Old Man: About that, don't be mad at me...
Me: What
Old Man: Will you be mad if I say I don't feel like doing anything?
Me: No
Old Man: I don't feel like doing anything tonight
Me: Ok. Bye.

I know I got short with him, but WTF, I'm running around my place like a mad woman, trying to take care of a shitload of stuff I have to do, and I squeeze him in, and he cancels an hour before our agreed upon time.
I stop.
I breathe.
I was tempted to go to the bar and get a drink and to just say fuck it (sorry for the language, but I had a REALLY rough day).

Anyways, I make a drink, and decide to chill for a minute. I get a call (unknown caller..... DAMN):

Unknown Caller 1: Hello, hey how are you?
Me: Good, who is this?
Unknown Caller 1: It's "Jason... Jason Mathis" ... (haven't talked about him yet)
Me: Ohhhhhh. Hey how are you!

After a few minutes of conversation, someone beeps in, I immediately recognize the number...

Unknown Caller 2: Hello,
Me: Heyyyyy Island Prince, oh my god, how are you!!! Hold on....

At least tonight wasn't all the way bad. I talked to Island Prince for a few moments, and I called Jason back...I still need that stiff drink though

Addicted to Men

I never thought in a million years that I would be dating someone who is 31 years older than me...but I guess I should know to never say never. Although Old Man Benjamin & I aren't exclusive, we've been seeing a lot more of each other. Last night we went out to dinner and to this little jazz spot. The atmosphere and music were great, there was just one problem...I kept looking at other guys. There was this absolutely gorgeous trumpet player who was probably my age, who I was eyeing the whole night. I have a problem...I'm addicted to men...ok, maybe not addicted...wait I am. The first step to recognizing you have a problem is admitting it.

I LOVE MEN!

Ok, now that that's out the way. I realize what I need. I need someone who can hold my attention...because I have the attention span of a puppy or a small child. I need to be with and date someone, that when I am out with them, I don't care about anyone else or anything else around us at that moment. It's just me and him. I won't secretly check out the other hotter guys, because I will think he's the best thing since sliced bread...

I felt that way with Island Prince. When we went out, I can honestly say...I did NOT check out anyone else. Not once. And he didn't either.

Dirty Dancing

Last night was quite interesting and entertaining. After a great dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, I decided to go Salsa dancing. I knew Old Man Benjamin was going to be there, as we talked earlier and he told me that's where he'd be. He's pretty predictable, he goes Salsa dancing at least 4 times a week.

Before I can even walk into the door, this random guy stops me. He was cute, so I give him my number. When he's putting my number in his phone, I notice his hands. They are HUGE (not in a good way). They reminded me of embellished cartoon hands, kind of scary. Or maybe like the hands of those mascots except they did not match his body type or face...it was too late to take my number back...hmmm, is there a such thing as a hand disease?

So I get into the bar & see the Old Man dancing. He doesn't see me yet, so I sneak past him and go to the bar. I wanted to scope the scene a little, but too late; he spotted me! He was thrilled and surprised to see me. I wore these really tight pants (that showed all my curves) and an oversized off the shoulder shirt. He noticed. It was like it was his birthday all over again and I gave him the gift of Viagra!

We danced the night away. It was good. I actually had a great time. So confession...Old man Benjamin is growing on me. Here are some of the reasons why? (in no particular order)

1. He showers me with compliments
2. He's a great dancer (Salsa, Meringue, Bachata, Cha Cha, Reggae, Booty...he does it all!)
3. He has a zest for life
4. He's genuine. He'll call me in the morning to wish me a great day & tell me what a great time he had the night before & how great he thought I looked
5. He notices the little things. Like last night he noticed my earrings, and outfit, or he notices my hair, or something new he hasn't seen me wear before

In Other News:

Island Prince called me Sunday night. It was a short sweet conversation. I wonder what's going through his mind and why he's keeping the line of communication open, seeing as how he has baggage and he lives thousands of miles away? The only thing I can think of, other than our hot sexy times, is that its the "what if" factor. (another blog another time)

Nostalgic

I was feeling really nostalgic last night. I wanted to talk to my Island Prince...really bad. I don’t know why. It was like something came over me. I tried calling him but a French operator came on. I sent him an e-mail and sent his brother a text.

Island Prince e-mailed me back with his new number.

I called him, the conversation was short but sweet. He wanted to know when I was going to come and see him…anytime he wants. We couldn’t really talk because of the static and background noise, but…the few minutes satisfied my craving.

Another Eventful Weekend-Three's a Crowd

I had an interesting Friday. I went to see Island Prince John in New York. After being stuck in traffic for over an hour, and lost for another three, all I wanted to do was have a drink and unwind. After I finally made it to my friend's place (Party All the Time aka P.A.T.T.), Island Prince John came over. The plan was to go out to a club or bar. As we waited for P.A.T.T. and her friend...we made out...a lot. I guess we were making up for missed time. As I was kissing him, I could feel the stress of NYC's traffic, crazy taxi's, and confusing street signs melt away... the bubbly could have also had something do do with it!!!

P.A.T.T and her friend finally made it. However Island Prince John had something else in mind.

Island Prince: Let's meet them

Me: What?

Island Prince: Let them go ahead of us, tell them we'll meet them

Me: We can't stay here

Island Prince: Ok. we'll go to my brother's

So after a drink or two, we all head out. Once we get in the cab, I tell the cab driver to drop us at Island Prince John's brother's place. I tell P.A.T.T. and her friend to go without us...we'll meet them there.

We did plan on meeting them there...we fell asleep. We woke up a few hours later to the drunken french voices of Island Prince John's brother & Willard.

I tried to quickly get under the covers, as Island Prince yelled something in French.

Safely covered, Willard and Island Prince John's brother came into the room. We couldn't really stop them, as there weren't any doors...his brother had a Jr. 1 bedroom place...sans privacy.

Both Willard and the brother are surprised to see me. I blush a little, and say hi. There's a lot of conversation in French. I couldn't make anything out. After about an hour of socializing, a near fight between Island Prince John and a really drunk Willard and Willard passing out, Island Prince John, his brother & myself talk about sleeping arrangements.

See, I think, when Island Prince John and I were talking on the phone earlier in the week, somethings got lost in translation (L.I.T.)...like the fact that his brother basically has a studio, like the fact that I told him P.A.T.T. had out of town company and I really didn't have a place to sleep, like the fact that Island Prince John barely had a place to sleep, seeing as how Willard had the couch and Island Prince and his brother were sharing the same bed.

Me: We should look for a hotel

Island Prince: It's too late

Me: Uhhh, I told you my friend had company. Let me try to call her

Island Prince John: Don't worry, we'll figure something out. Do you want to take a shower. I have a really big shirt you can wear

Me: Uh, ok

(A few minutes later)

Brother: So is John taking you to your friend's house?

Me: He didn't tell you the situation?

Brother: No

Me: She has company. I just tried calling her. I'm going to try again

Island Prince: Don't worry about it, well figure something out

After my shower. Island Prince told me what the solution was. Hmmm, this will be interesting, I thought.

Different Beds

I like Island Prince John; despite the fact that I know it will never work due to distance and his baggage. What's a girl to do? I'm going to go see him on Friday. One last fun filled night before he returns home. I'm excited & sad at the same time. Ideally, I would love to visit him; but it's complicated. He's told me twice that he's not married, nor does he have a girlfriend. (I asked him twice for fear it was not understood).

But............drum roll please................his baby's mama lives with him!

So, after I picked my chin, jaw and face off the ground. I asked him more questions...uh...

Me: Why do you live with your baby's mama?

Island Prince: I want to see my baby

Me: How many bedrooms do you have?

Island Prince:Two, we don't sleep in the same bed

Me: Are you sure she's not your girlfriend?

Island Prince: Yes, we were just together. I wanted to break it off, then I found out she's pregnant.

Me: Do you love her?

Island Prince: I don't know

Me: What happened?

Island Prince: She was controlling, wouldn't let me do what I wanted. It wasn't good anymore

Me:

Island Prince: I haven't touched her since the baby was born, and 4 months before that

Me: You guys have a common bond now.

Island Prince: We will never be together

Me: (to myself, "Yeah right fool")

Side Note: (Mr. Henry & I lived together for 11 months. Although we didn't sleep in the same bed, we did a lot of horizontal dancing, another blog another time. So I'm pretty skeptical about the "not touching" each other comment, extremely skeptical)

After the inevitable conversation, we started talking about other relationships, traveling and music. I thought to myself, how he's on vacation, and thought about what I do when I'm on vacation. My last one to Jamaica was fun filled with plenty of nostalgic memories that I still smile about. I went with no intentions and got everything I wanted, plus some. So I decided that is what Island Prince was doing, having a fun filled vacation...I will do the same thing then...treat everyday like a vacation.

Lost In Translation

Last night was International night for me. As much as I didn't want to I hung out with the guy from Spain, "DJ". We went to a club. I was surprised at how many people were out on a Tuesday night. We danced. I was really good; I didn't drink and I didn't stay long. He kept trying to get me to stay though.

I love his accent. It's cute. We didn't talk much, just danced. He told me to give him my lips. It was kind of cute. He's kind of cute.

At least I know he will be close by for at least four years since he's here on a 4 yr. visa for school. His English is more understandable than my Spanish...

When I got home I got online & chatted with Island Prince John. We chatted for a long time, but I spent 70% of the time trying to figure out what he was saying. At one point I thought he said his friend's brother liked him...but that wasn't it. He also talked about past relationships and how he was done wrong.

I went to bed partly confused, enlightened, and curious.

He did tell me he wanted to "Do" me right now! Hmmm.

It sucks he leaves for the West Indies on Monday.

This was by far, my favorite, short-term romance... in a long time.

The End of My Fun Filled Weekend (Part 3 of 3)

Saturday

We were so tired from Friday, we could barely get it together. It rained all day, I had an event to do. I was cranky from lack of sleep, and I had to be around Mr. Henry. It's usually not a problem, but today it was. There's a huge contrast between his personality and Island Prince John's personality. (Island Prince John is more romantic, attentive, and sweet, Mr. Henry is edgy, crass, and a jokester...as well as a jerk a-hole sometimes) I didn't feel like dealing with Mr. Henry today.

As soon as Mr. Henry got into the truck, he was questioning P.O.W. about her stay thus far. She went to show him a picture, and he decided to keep the camera and scroll through all the pictures. I tried to get it back, but it was too late. He seen the catalogue of events from Friday with Island Prince and Willard. Me in my sexy, skimpy dress, me kissing Island Prince, the four of us looking cozy, Island Prince's hand on my thigh, waist, and everywhere else. Us having fun!

Mr. Henry became quiet.

So as the night progressed and we wrapped up our event, Mr. Henry was kind of back to normal.

I get a call from Island Prince.

I answer the phone.

We talk about what a great time we had, how he wants to see me again, how Willard misses P.O.W already. How Island Prince wants to hold me. How I want to see Island Prince. (Hmmm, I miss kissing him.)

Mr. Henry becomes quiet again. At this point I don't care. Yeah, I know Mr. Henry and I had fun on Monday together and we have a history....but it's always been a gray area. Never black and white. Never defined. Now he knows he has competition...hot, sexy, can't be matched right now competition!!!

Maybe he'll step up his game.

Mr. Henry opened a bottle of wine and consumed it (the whole bottle in less than 40 minutes) on our way back to the city. Since he rode with me, I had to drive to the Metro to drop him off.

At this point he's feeling loose and good from the wine; I can tell he wanted to come back to my place. He always comes up with an excuse and I usually oblige him. Not this time; there's no way I can put up with him. He'll drink more, then he'll try to DO me...and well, it just wasn't happening. After about 20 minutes of going back & forth trying to get him out the truck and trying to stop him from chatting with P.O.W. he finally gets out.

He's mad.

Oh well. He'll get over it.

Sunday

P.O.W and I went out. I have a knack for meeting international men. I must have a secret florescent stamp on my forehead that only they can see. I don't have a problem with meeting International guys, I think they can be sexy and mysterious.

Although I must admit, I had a few bad experiences, with men from certain countries ...actually just one country... that made me leary and weary of International men for a long time...but I'm over it now (another blog about them another time).

So last night, I met this guy from Spain. Kinda cute, nice accent. Not as cute as Island Prince, but none-the-less, I was intrigued. He called me today. Were were supposed to go Salsa dancing but I'm still recovering from my fun, filled, french, sexy weekend....hmmm.

Maybe tomorrow.

My Fun Filled Weekend (Part 2 of 3)

Friday!!! So my Island Prince John & his friend came down from New York. At first I was really nervous. What if I had beer goggles on when I met him? What if his friend sucks and him & P.O.W don’t get along? How are we going to get by a whole day, solely on the little English they know, and the non-existent French me & P.O.W. speak? “Par-le-vous, what???”

I pick Island Prince John & his friend “Willard” up. Whew. I didn’t have beer goggles on. He was exactly how I remembered. (Plus I had a picture, I was just second guessing everything). We went back to my place for a few drinks & to pick P.O.W. up.

Everything was great. We went to this lounge for more drinks & got to know each other a little better. My Island Prince was so cute, so sweet, so sexy and he so couldn’t keep his hands off of me! It was great. We were both really into each other, and it felt amazing. His English was getting better and better as the night progressed, and my French, turned into French kissing. What more could we ask for?

We left the lounge and went and had dinner. Island Prince John & Willard were so funny. Everything was so new to them. We had a blast explaining what “sour sauce” (Sour cream) was. We were all getting along quite well. I felt good that P.O.W. was having fun and that Willard could speak more English than we thought.

After dinner, we walked around a little bit. Took pictures with random people, and just enjoyed each other’s company. I love how attentive & romantic everything was between me & Island Prince; even when we got caught in the rain.

Our last stop was another lounge that was completely empty. We had a blast dancing then headed home.

In the morning Island Prince cleaned up and Willard cooked breakfast. I was sad they had to leave. I think I’m going to see him one more time before he leaves to go back home. Hmmm, he’s sooooo sexy. Oh, I did learn one word in French "Sexy" is "Sexy"...sexy is universal.
