The Weekend Review: A Date, Stay On Your-Side & PDA

10. My weekend started on Wednesday. I hung with some chick friends for a minute. Not the same. Was home by midnight to prepare for my day trip to NY at 7:30am

9. The trip to NY with Devin was much better this time. We got a room in Midtown, didn't have the bus ride from hell and just chilled. Uno problemo. There was only one bed in our room, although I clearly requested two.

8. It's been almost two weeks since I heard from Mr. Henry. Guess he didn't like what I had to say. Oh well, his numbers were deleted two weeks ago anyways along with Tony's & some "unmentionables"

7. Speaking of "unmentionables", I ran into DJ a week or so ago. He's texted and called me a few times since our encounter...

6. Devin and I got stuck in Starbucks after 2am, cause someone thought it was a bright idea to use that entrance to get to our hotel room, well, in our defense, the door WAS unlocked. As soon as it shut behind us, it locked and the alarm started going off. The opposite door to the hotel was locked too....we were “locked-up”.

5. Friday night, after getting back to DC, I hung with some chick friends for happy hour and drinks. Then met Devin in Adams Morgan.

4. After a night of vodka’s and limes, while walking down the street at the butt crack of dawn in the morning in Adams Morgan and on U Street, I was yelling at couples who were having sex and sucking face to get a room politely told people who felt the need to show random acts of Nasty, McNasty PDA to get a room. This one couple retorted back and said, “well you can kiss the guy you’re with”. (Pause). I looked at Devin and apologize to the couple....punks.

3. I went on a date yesterday. It was so fucking boring. (more on that later)

2. Brian made it safely. I’m so jealous he got to party it up at the Essence, while I was stuck here.

1. It’s summer, I have my trips lined up, getting ready to party Diva style and I agreed to go “indoor sky-diving” with POW and “outdoor sky-diving” with Devin. Now all I need is my vodka and a hot sexy summer fling...yep, I said it!

An Update To The Update

So, after I went on my e-mailing spree on Monday. A few things happened and didn't happen.

Update #1 - He (the name I promised not to blog about anymore) did e-mail me back. I posted what he said verbatim in the comments. I'm not mad about it. In fact, I thought it was a decent response, considering my left-field timeliness. In retrospect, I think to some extent during our last week we were both (maybe me so more than him) faced with the reality that he was leaving. As I said before, he told me he was mad at me on Thursday, & I at him on Wednesday, then we went on the spree of "get it in before you leave"... I never went into our friendship wanting or expecting more, nor do I want it right now. It (the L word) just hit me out of nowhere like a 10 ton elephant high off of poppy and laced peanuts. All in all, I think I am cool with the outcome. I feel like I can finally sleep a little bit better...I'm sure once time has passed, we'll talk...(I think).

Update #2 - PATT. I e-mailed her on Monday, and we went back and forth trying to counter our points as to why the other person shoulda coulda woulda. All in all I think our points of views are both valid for different reasons. Sometimes we (people) become so self absorbed in our own problems and issues, that we momentarily forget other people are going through it too. We still haven't verbally talked, however she attempted to text me today, and I responded with a call, and she responded with a text. I'll keep you posted...

Update # 3 - During my e-mail binge, I also gave Tony & Mr. Henry a huge piece of my mind. Both for different reasons...guess I was just letting it all out. Neither one responded. My text to Tony was basically because of the fact that he was harassing me about wanting to see me and spend time with me. When I finally caved in and agreed, he went MIA. I tried to be delicate in my response, because he IS on meds (Did I mention he is crazy), however, don't grovel and beg and say you want to spend time with me, then when I carve out a time, and we agree upon it, you go AWOL?...NEXT!

Update #4 - Devin and I are going to NY tomorrow. This time we actually (were not cheap) booked a room. A few things I forgot to mention about him, besides the fact that he sorta works for me. I've know him for two years now. He knows all about Mr. Henry & Brian. (He's met Mr. Henry & knows him through working for me) During last week's 9 hour bus ride of a nightmare to NY, we had nothing but time on our hands. Actually before the trip, we would keep up with each other a few times a month. So it's not anything that's new or a possible, nor do I want it to be... (side note: as his sorta boss, it's sorta inappropriate as well)

Update #5 - Finally finished that "Things To Do Before 30" list. Let's see if I can accomplish it, in 6 months...

Catch Up!

Neila inspired me to write a post to catch lurkers & new followers of the blog up on the who, what, when, where and why. Before you continue to read this post any further, visit these posts....go ahead, I’ll wait.

How Brian Met Diva

Mr. Henry, Part 1 of Many Blogs

Mr. Henry Before & After Part 1 of 2

Weird Guy From The Gym

Tony, Tony, Tony

Now the QUICK synopsis. I’m not seeing anyone seriously. Most days I really don’t want to. I haven’t seen Tony since early March although we text and talk from time to time. Mr. Henry...well it’s a love/hate on again off again thing. Right now it’s off on my end because of his recent comments, re me sleeping on Brian’s couch. If Mr. H asks me something, I tell him. The thing is when I tell him he gets mad...well don’t ask me!!! That solves that right!

Brian, well as you guys know, he’s leaving. In fact the movers packed him up Monday. We are just friends. Nothing sexual has happened between us, unless you count the sexual tension that’s under the surface sometimes...and my "crush" on him

There are unmentionables, not really worthy of a post right now. The guy I went on a date with most recently who was late still texts; then there are a few other guys I meet here or there and it doesn’t come to fruition.

So hope this helps! Back later with updates on my convo with Brian yesterday

Time-Out Box

So this week(end) was f’ing interesting on so so so many levels. Everything from locking myself out of my apartment (twice), to Brian being so drunk, he decided to “take a little nap” on the streets of Georgetown at 2am on Saturday, to me putting Mr. Henry, P.A.T.T. and Tony in the “time-out” box, here’s the summary of my 5 vodka filled days (6 if you count tonight):

10. If I owned stock in vodka, any brand, even Popov, I’d be rich, albeit, I’d drink most of my shares...

9. Hung out with Brian Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and last-night. Spent the night Saturday night...

8. Tony text me Friday & Saturday wanting to “see” me. We had so many random conversations about “us” and seeing each other. I don’t want to “see” him like that

7. P.A.T.T. is the first to enter the ‘time-out” box this weekend. Saturday at 1pm, I realized I locked myself out of my apartment. I call/text and send flare messages, just short of calling the National Guard, to get my extra set of keys from her. Long story short, the biatch (yes, that’s not Diva like) never came through. Sunday morning, I flushed $139.00 down the toilet, just so the locksmith could get me in my place.

6. Brian had his going away BBQ Saturday. Hung there, then he & I hit the streets of Georgetown later. We go to our trusty faithful, and he either got roofied or can’t hold his liquor (that was a first). He decided to pee outside, on M Street (the main walkway), lay down on the concrete, and throw-up outside of his apartment building...(the night didn’t end there, tell you about it later)

5. Friday is a blur. I had so much fun, I sobered up towards the end of the night, when this guy “insisted” on taking me home. Being the quick, clever, ultimate smart chick that I am. I tricked him. I sent him back in the club to get me some water. As soon as he was out of eyesight, I hailed a cab and took my ass home...

4. Guess, dude didn’t have “hard” feelings. The next day he called me and said that was hilarious. He came back out with the water, and said I “disappeared".

3. I forgot to mention on Thursday night, Brian was flirting with me too, when I was sandwiched in-between he and his roommate in the cab. I told them, and I quote “I’m not fucking you guys”. Roomy was “offended” and said that, no one even mentioned sex...but you were thinking it, dude. His Roomy ended up leaving Friday & not staying for Brian’s going away party....that was lame...

2. Mr. Henry was the second to enter the “time-out” box. I was telling him about me being locked out of my place & the whole P.A.T.T. situation. He asked me where I slept, and I told him on Brian’s couch. He said, “you didn’t sleep on the damn couch”. I told him I had no reason to lie. Had I not said anything he would have never known...

1. Last night after Brian and I chilled. I dropped him off. 2:30am locked myself out my apartment again! I called him and he saved the day. I need some Ginkgo Biloba, stat

Something's In The Water....Again

Tonight was one of those RARE nights I decided to stay home and pretend I'm an adult. You know, taking care of business, bills, apartment, etc. (although I spent most of the night catching up on blogs!). But everyone & I mean EVERYONE either called or text to see if I wanted to hang out, or to ask me where they should hang out, or to see what I was doing:

Tony-Texted to say he was thinking about me

Mr. Henry - Sext Messages all day and flashbacks to Monday and this past weekend

Brian- Wanted to see what I was doing and after he found out I was staying in, decided to stay in too

PATT - Was at Stir and wanted to know if I wanted to join her

Guy Who Intervened A Few Weeks Ago, re sandwich chick - Called to see if we could get together

Latino Papi Alex- Texted to see where he could hang tonight and to see what I was up to. I told him to go to Pure Lounge for salsa & hip hop, then we chatted about meeting up soon.

Co-worker - Asked me at a work event today if I wanted to go salsa dancing tonight

Wow, when I decide to stay in and "chill", everyone wants to do something....classic. So for my blogger's/followers who live in the area & want something to do tomorrow, first if you haven't checked out the Eyespyz do so, then here's my short list for things to do....

Diva's Off Beaten Track of Things To Do:

Silverdocs - Film festival in Silver Spring

Buck Naked Bike Ride (courtesy of SBMinNOVA) - Saturday, 3pm ride nude & cover your jewels, slightly... (UPDATE, I'm late on this one!!! It passed)

The Artomatic - DC Free Arts Festival, featuring various works of art on display and for purchase

Salsa Congress - Watch salsa, learn salsa, dance salsa all weekend long!

And Now, On To The Watering Holes:

U-Street Neo-Vibes
Marvins - Cool, non-profit, granola eating, world peace crowd, who does things like Peace Corp, and tree hugging
Alero - Margarita & bar specials, cool meet the co-worker there after work vibe
Jin - $5.00 apps & drink specials 5:30 - 8:00
Pure - $1.00 drink specials from 6-9. Cool beats.
Bohemian Caverns - The name says it all, love the decor though. Sometimes they have cool live musical acts

K-Street Junkies (Party Vibes)
Lima
Tattoo
Lotus
The Park
K-Street Lounge
The Eyebar (a block over)
Josephine's (a few blocks over)
The Shadow Room
Ozio's (on M Street)

Sports Bar Atmosphere:
The Rocketbar - Gallery Place Chinatown
Buffalo Billiards - Dupont Circle
Recessions - 18th & L downtown area
Penn Quarter Sports Bar - Near the Archives Metro Station
The Lucky Bar - You may not get lucky, but it's near a few strip clubs, so you can pretend (Connecticut Ave.)
The ESPN Zone - enough said.

Adams Morgan - So many Cool Places, Not Enough Hours In The Night
Bukom - West African food, live Reggae band
Left Bank - Had Brazilian night on Friday
Hookah bars - Enough said
Chloe - Young, college crowd that likes to dance
Columbia Station - Cool live jazz music
Havana Village - Sexy Salsa

My advice for Adams Morgan, just walk around & bar hop, you never know what you'll find. Over 50 bars (I think) in the area

That's my PSA for the year....if you live or have lived in the area, add to it? Where do you go?

MIA: Why Didn’t You Call The Cops???

So, last week was quite busy with work...at least more so, than the last few months. Although I didn’t have much personal time for myself, I still managed to squeeze in a few sexy days of fun...

5. Friday night, Brian finally got back into town. We met up & hung out for a little. It wasn’t a party on wheels, but it was cool. He officially has 10 days left...

4. After I finished hanging with Brian, Mr. Henry met me downtown and we took a cab back to my place. He ended up spending the night Friday and Saturday. We had lots and lots of practice. Since I’ve been obsessed with the big O, I’ve been a big horn dog...trying to get it in whenever I can. Saturday, while Mr. Henry was over, Tony text’d me & asked to come over...funny...

3. Saturday night’s “verbal” session with Mr. H, was amazing...still no O though... well maybe it was a mini O...we talked about it. Probably TMI, but he likes sucking my toes...and well that’s not a big turn on for me...but he loves it...

2. I met this cool guy Friday night. He’s a baby!!!! Ok, like almost 5 years younger. We have a date tomorrow for drinks...

1. I’m still coming up with things I want to do in the next 7 months, before I hit the Big 3-0. The cool thing is, I’ve done a lot, and well some stuff just won’t happen in 7 months.... but I think I’m going to try to squeeze in another trip in addition to the Vegas & D.R. trips...somewhere sexy, for sexy fun times...

Freaky Friday (Was There A Full Moon???)

“I only like two kinds of men, domestic and imported” - Mae West

I’ve said before how much I love men... all types. Well men (and some women) love me too! I had a pretty eventful Friday. I ended up hanging solo. P.A.T.T. backed out at the last minute & Brian went home for his daughter’s birthday, while other chick friends were out of town or missing in action.

Side Note: Pre-Brian and Post P.A.T.T. leaving for NY, I used to hang out quite often solo. Chick friends come up with so many excuses, i.e. “I’m cramping”, “My head hurts”, “I don’t have anything to wear” or my favorite “It’s raining”. So rather than sit at home and wait for someone to stop being wishy washy...I fly solo when needed, but I digress...

So anyways, Friday was... well here’s what happened.

5. I went to a Brazilian dance party in Adams Morgan. Tons of fun, and somehow, the island men always sniff me out. They assume I’m 1) from the islands and 2) don’t believe me when I tell them, I was homegrown in the States...in any case, this island guy was Old. Caused me to have not so yummy flashbacks of the Old Man. After shaking him and his entourage loose, I bar hopped to my next spot...

4. Stumbled upon another bar with cool music. Chatted with people. Everyone that I meet when I’m solo, is in such “awe and amazement” that I have the balls (figuratively speaking) to go out solo (Diva style). Most of the girls say they wish they could do that, and the guys, just think it’s pretty cool, and give me cool points.

3. Went back to the Brazilian dance party...(the lead singer was cute...couldn’t help it)

2. After consuming my max on vodka & limes, I walked past a food spot that looked good. Stopped in and got a sandwich. As I’m sitting there this chick tells me how good my sandwich looks. Thinking nothing of it, I go on to adamantly exclaim, how it’s “sooooooo good”. Then she stairs at me a little longer:

Chick Girl: Yeah, you’re making that sandwich look soooo good

Me: (wiping the extra sandwich sauce from chin, cause it was messy) Yea, it’s really good, you should get one. It’s chicken

Chick Girl: (walks over to me, looks at sandwich) Yeah, it’s sexy. You’re making me hungry

Me: (I’m still eating)

Chick Girl: Can I have a bite?

Me: No

Chick Girl: (laughing) what’s in it? Are you alone?

I tell her. Her male friend/cousin/ whoever comes and intervenes (saves me) and talks to me. This isn’t the first time a chick girl has “flirted” with me. I wonder though, don’t gay men & lesbians have “Straight-dars”. I know I have a “Gay-dar” (Disclaimer: Sometimes it doesn’t function properly, you know, mistakes straight for gay & vice versa). In any case, I’m comfortable enough in my womanhood, where it didn’t bother me....but I have to wonder...what the hell was she thinking? Oh well...I guess I’m flattered men & women like me (I think)...

1. Tony and I talked on the phone all night Friday.

Just Say No

"And on the 9th day, Diva rested..."

I was going to do this earlier, then I got side tracked, then I went salsa dancing....but here's the overview of my vodka filled week. Yes week! I went out 6 days out of the last 8...

9. Island Prince called me tonight. We actually had a better conversation. His English is improving, or my French translation switch is working. I found out he no longer lives with his baby's mama, cause she high-tailed it to France, his brother had twins, and he wants to see me...in his words..."very, very soon".

8. Ummm. Brian & I hung out Monday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. Yes Sunday. Although I haven't seen the movie, I feel like saying..."I can't quit you"... Oh, and he likes the flask. We put it to good use on Saturday!

7. Apparently when I drink, I give up all of the info. You can ask me anything, anything. Atleast that's what I was told on Sunday, by a guy I met Saturday night. Why is liquor the truth serum? The government needs to start a new program and give all suspected "bad guys" shots of vodka...it works like a charm. Maybe I should be the Director of the program...you know, administer the vanilla vodka shots...

6. Tony sent me the following text message on Friday - "Maybe I should keep this to myself, but I've been thinking about u in the wrong ways. U were the best sexually I ever had"...

5. I do hang with other people besides Brian. Friday night I hung with the chick friends....uhhh, I was home by midnight.

4. Thanks Tunde and Blk Bond...I did some "research"...

3. I went salsa dancing tonight with P.A.T.T. No Old Man sightings, I had a really good time. I forgot what great exercise it is! I definitely need to get back into it.

2. I'll admit, after receiving Tony's text, I thought about inviting him over to conduct some "research". But then I remembered why I had to stop dealing with him...crazy, crazy, crazy.

1. I'm going to "try" (key word: TRY) to lay low this week/weekend. It's so hard to do when you live in D.C. and there's something to do every night of the week. I'm sure my liver, kidney's and bank account will thank me for it!

The Follow-Up...

Continued...how the conversation started...

Me: The girl that you mentioned in passing, that you talked about wife-ing. You never talk about her, but you mention other girls. Why?

Brian: Probably cause our friendship isn't that serious. We don't talk about serious things. It's light. Like just cause I don't talk about her, doesn't mean I don't care about her. I talk about her with Mark.

Me: Is it because it's something that's so personal to you, you don't bring it up?

Brian: (Shrugs) You probably wouldn't believe anything I say about her, because of how you see me act with other girls, and you'd probably be like "yeah right". But your boys understand, and you don't have to explain anything.

The conversation kind of ended and we started talking about other stuff at that point. A rule I always live by is the don't ask, don't tell policy unless you really want to to know. When you do ask, be prepared for the answer & don't get mad, cause you asked. I think the thing that "bothered" me, was the whole part, re "our friendship isn't that serious".

Obviously, I looked at it differently, yeah, light and easy, but also, serious. Not in the relationship way BF/GF way, but IDK... not in the "just passing through" way either. When you spend so much time with someone, the way that we do/did, I guess I thought we were better friends... oh well. What can I say???

Moving on...

In Other News

I know, the last few posts, have been about Brian, ok a lot more than a few, but who's counting. It doesn't mean that the other guys don't exist, they just haven't existed as much... I need a new line-up...

I talked to Tony twice last week. Just conversations. He's still unemployed, still not doing much (nothing to be exact). It's sad, because he has an amazing natural talent, and he's not using it. He's waiting on bands to call him, and waiting on his "big break" but he's not marketing himself. He's not looking. Well how in the hell are they gonna find you?

The Old Man sent me a text and I didn't respond. I know we are going to eventually run into each other, cause he lives in the salsa bars, and eventually, I'm going to go salsa dancing...hmmmm

Chris & I texted back and forth a few days last week & talked on the phone once...nothing there. Like we say we are going to meet up for lunch, or sync our schedules one day. But I haven't made the effort, and neither has he. I guess the option is there if one of us wanted it...I really don't want it.

Mr. H and I are doing the same. I wonder, when will we "officially" stop.

My Random Week & Weekend In Review

In no particular order...

10. Mr. Henry spent the night last night.

9. Home was good but as soon as I got back, I hung with Brian.

8. I don’t think high-school relationships count, but my ex "Carlos" from h.s. (Mr. Good on Paper) sent me a text saying I was in his thoughts, etc. out the blue. It was so random, I thought something was wrong. Called him back to make sure he was ok.

7. The next day his girlfriend texts me and tells me to stop calling “her man”. a) do not bring the drama, b) take that up with him, c) what kind of insecure woman calls another woman...that’s just stupid and sooo very high-school. I called him and told him I didn’t appreciate her calling me and he needs to “check her”. He didn’t. They called me the next day...ugghh kids.

6. Tony called me, citing he hasn’t heard from me, and to “keep in touch more often”.

5. Mr. Henry and I had a long talk about “us”

4. Have you ever thought about someone else, while horizontal dancing”

3. I got Brian’s going away gift...the flask.

2. The tools are relentless. I also received other random texts from Chris and Latino Papi Alex

1. When the ex asked me if I was seeing anyone, I told him about Brian...I don’t understand how he says he still has feelings for me, and we haven’t dated since high-school, never had sex, and haven’t seen each other in like 5 years. My enquiring mind wants to know...

Mission Aborted

So Operation Replace Brian has been aborted. I can’t replace him. I can only get someone who is similar, maybe better (or worse), but not him. Last night we attempted to go out and just ended up at a pool hall. We chilled, drank, the normal...then it really hit me...he’s leaving. End of story. Period. Adios. Sayonara. Goodbye. He’ll be gone the next three weekends, then when he gets back, I will have just a few weeks before the plug is pulled. So to occupy the time, he somehow managed to have in my already busy schedule, I’m traveling more. New York this weekend, home the following weekend, Vegas & the Dominican this summer, and if I can squeeze another trip in to Jamaica...all the better. Maybe even a trip to see him...

In Other News:

Tool 1 & Tool 2 keep calling/texting me.

Tool 1 (James) sent a text: Hey, I haven’t heard from you since our date. How are you.
Me: Good. Busy. It’s just bad timing. Sorry

Tool 2 (JB) leaves me 5 minute messages, and sends me at the minimum three text a day. One in the morning, one in the afternoon, one at night, and a few random ones for the hell of it.

I’m thinking about just getting a new number altogether. It always seems someone calls/text from out the blue, that I don’t wanna talk to. Latino Papi Alex still sends me text messages from time to time. Tony text me last week, as well as the Old Man. POW kindly reminded me that I’ve had my number for almost 6 years...yeah, I think it’s time for a new number, although I have become quite attached to it!

One Date, A Tool & A Funeral (Part 2 of 2)

Continued...

So we are sitting in the car, I’m pissed. I want him to go, I’m tired, and he’s being persistent.

Him: Hey, is that Ben’s Chili bowl? I’ve never eaten there. Have you? Do you wanna go?

Me: It’s alright. I only eat there when I’m drunk. No, I’m tired.

Him: You sure, I’ve never had it.

Me: You mean to tell me, you’ve been here for 10 years and you never went (What a bunch of F’n bull, during the week he told me he hung out in D.C. all the time)

Him: I live in MD

Me: But you’re here every weekend, and you went to school down the street? Where do you live, I’ll drop you off. (I’m frustrated & am not in the mood to argue...)

Him: It’s late, you sure. I can just stay at your place, I’m not gonna do anything...

Me: No.

Him: Well you can stay at my place. I feel bad. I don’t want you on the road this late. You sure you ok to drive?

Me: Yes. I’ll get a red bull.

Him: You can stay at my place. I promise you, I’ll sleep on the floor.

Me: No

During the drive, he asks me if I want to stop at IHOP. He kept saying anything to prolong my agony. I pull through a drive-through. The ride is about 35 minutes. He’s trying to make small talk over my blaring Common CD. I’m trying to drown his voice out. I’m mad at myself for breaking my own rule...no dates on Saturday night. My thoughts drift to Brian, I want to call him, but by this time, it’s shortly after 3am. The only bonus is, he put gas in my truck...not that, that was a super bonus, because I didn’t get home until 4:05am...I was beyond pissed.

Cons: Such Toolery. Taking 3 shots back to back does not impress me. Thinking I'm going to fall for the, "I'll sleep on the floor, I promise" is pure ignorance. Not being man enough to leave at a decent time, or make the proper arrangements, to make sure your grown ass gets home, is major cool points lost... Dressing, like a reject from Tools R Us, is such a turn off...

Suffice it to say, he doesn't get a second chance.

In Other News:

Sunday I was supposed to go on a date with J.B. But after the debacle with James, I didn’t feel like being bothered, so I cancelled. I text’d Brian to see if he wanted to join me. Brian salvaged what was left of my painful, sleep deprived weekend. Tomorrow, I meet his daughter, brother and Mom...

Yesterday, Mr. Henry called me because he wanted something. It’s funny, he was pissed last week, because I wouldn’t do the horizontal dance with him. I didn’t hear from him all week, then he calls me, because he needs a “favor”. I told him about himself and told him I couldn’t help him...I don’t give a fuck if he’s pissed.

Tony text’d me last night, and asked if we are “still friends”.

Something is definitely in the water...

Vodka, Big Hands & Naps...Not In That Order

Some interesting and not so amusing things happened to me this weekend, mind you my weekends start on Thursday, sometimes Wednesdays, depending on the week. In any case, here's the top 10 in review.

10. I started Thursday night with happy hour with my co-worker/friend from a volunteer project, "Jason". When I first met him, I thought he was cute and despite our age difference we had a lot in common (he's 3 years younger). With time, it wore off. Now, well I think he's..."different". His drink of choice, a Midori Sour. After one, he said, he was "feeling it". What? Are you serious? I know he's not a drinker, I would have preferred he just opt for a coke or water. But a Midori Sour??? He made me feel like a lush for drinking wine!!!

9. Jason & I ended our, "happy hour" around 8. I wasn't ready to go home, so I called Brian to tell him I was headed to his place. For the first time in weeks, I took the Metro. I get off my train, to transfer and this sorta cute in the face guy stops me. He follows me up the escalator and asks me for my number. He pulls out his cell phone, and lo & behold it's Cartoon hands!!! Shit, it's a small world! He doesn't recognize me (I think). I gave him a fake name & number. Blame it on the...

8. Still on Thursday. After finally making it to Brian's house, I hang out with him, his roommate, and his friend. Remember, the cocky guy? He's was here visiting for the weekend. My intentions were to hang out at Brian's for a second then head home. Somehow, I ended up back at the lounge Jason and I were at earlier, although I knew I had to go to work in the morning...

7. Friday was such a nice day out, although I really wanted to stay home, I really wanted to go out. Again, you know who I hung with...it's becoming a bad habit to break.

6. Saturday morning, I get a morning wake up call at 8am from Mr. Henry. Who in the F, calls that early in the morning on a Saturday??? Don't they know, I'm a (recovering) party girl? I push ignore and try to go back to sleep. I can't. Damn him. After showering and getting myself together, I return his call.

5. After spending 4 long ass hours with Mr. Henry, it's about 2:30 in the afternoon. I have things to take care of, and want to get a nap in before my evening festivities. I tell Mr. H, I'm going home to take a nap.
Mr. Henry: Yeah, a nap sounds really good right now.

Me: You want to take a nap with me?

Mr. Henry: You know I can't lay next to your booty

Me: It's called self-control. Besides, didn't you just say, you were too lazy, when it comes to women?

Mr. Henry: That's different.

Me: Oh well. I offered. I'm soooo tired.

Mr. Henry: You know, I will come over

4. Mr. Henry comes over. He tosses and turns and is moving waaayyy to much. In my head, I'm thinking it was a bad idea. Then, he tries to horizontal dance. NO. He tries again. NO. He tried again, and finally I say, "No, it's tempting, but no thanks". My nap is ruined. He's pissed and doesn't talk to me. I drop him off at the Metro, thank him for lunch. He slams the door. I said a nap. He heard sex. Nap does not = sex. Both three letter words...but not equal.

3. Still on Saturday. I went out with Brian & his friend. I get to the club first. As soon as Brian walks in, he gives me a huge hug, like we haven't seen each other in years! I pull the SweetDiva card and buy him and his friend a drink as soon as he lets me go. His friend is amazed, and I earned cool points with Brian! At the end of the night, he gives me another huge hug!!!

2. Apparently I was really feeling my vanilla vodka & lime's, because a new guy I met last night, sent me a text, and said I told him, I like to get Pedicures and go to the spa. He told me, he'd love to do that with me this weekend.

1. Saving the best, or almost amusing for last. Tony called me Tuesday night after 1am. I told him it was "late". He called me last night at 11:30. I ignored his call. Well, somehow his number was in my phone at 2:30am, post bar, post 5 or 8 vodka & limes. I don't remember what I told him...blame it on the...

Side Dish or Main Course?

I don’t even know where to begin. Ok, so last week, Brian was out of town. Great, right? I’d be able to catch-up on stuff, relax, stay in the house. Chill-out. Maybe catch a movie or something....yeah right! Everyday with the exception of one day, I was doing something.

Monday: Drinks & watching the NCAA game at a lounge
Tuesday: Speed Dating (no luck with that)
Wednesday: Nothing
Thursday: Happy Hour & helping my friend with an event afterwards
Friday: Dating Event & Club
Saturday: Three Bars/Clubs
Sunday: Brunch with Friends

Not to mention, throw in phone conversations here and there, and laundry...I was quite busy! In total, I met seven guys (including Danny & George), of which four already called. Operation Replace Brian, i.e. Operation New Guy is not going too bad. Out of the seven, there is one, thus far who has the most potential.

In Other News:

So Brian went home last week and to Vegas. There were a few times when I wanted to text him something funny that happened, but stopped myself...I missed him. I guess this weekend was a glimpse into what it will be like when he moves. The funny thing is, when I thought about it...before he left, we spent the last three/four weekends together. Then I really started to think about it...I only spend my weekends with guys I like or people I don’t mind being around. I ALMOST NEVER spent a Friday or Saturday night hanging with the Old Man, Mr. Henry, or Tony...almost never.

Sundays, yes. Monday-Wednesday, no problem. Thursdays maybe. But I almost always spent my Friday or Saturday with Brian or hanging with friends...

Weekdays = Side Dish
Weekends = Main Course

Three Strikes, You're Out!

Ahhh. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice outside. In honor and in preparation of the soon to be here mini skirt weather, I went running twice this week! That’s two times more than I’ve been in the last month. I also walked five miles on Monday, and plan on doing something else, to replace my former exercise of burning calories horizontally! (It’s been a minute!)

So quick update on the fellas:

Tony & Old Man - Still haven’t talked to them!!! A few people thought they wouldn’t go down easy (I won’t call you out POW!), but surprisingly, neither one has called!

Mr. Henry - Came through for me this week! About damn time. Although I had to hear him rub it in, I’m happy, I called on him to help me. Last weekend he tried to get me to come over to play “doctor meet the new nurse”, but I’m happy I didn’t give in. It’s easy to say no, when someone doesn’t do it for you anymore...real easy.

Brian (is on strike 1) -He texted me on Sunday, thereby, making entry into the silver book again. I’ve been thinking about it a lot and I really feel like he wasn’t trying to get me to come over to play tag team with him and his roommate. His roommate tried to talk to me that night, I ignored him, then I think he asked Brian to see if I would come over. Maybe I’m thinking with my rose colored glasses today, but, Brian hasn’t crossed that line before, and I never gave him any indications that I’m down with sharing....Like I said before he has had plenty of opportunities to try, especially on all those nights we leave the bar three sheets to the wind...so, I’m going to keep my eyes & ears opened...if it happens again, I will definitely say something...

Terry the Security Guard - I’ve been avoiding him. Taking the stairs when I can, getting off one floor before I reach the lobby. He caught me one day!

Terry - Hey, how have you been, I haven’t seen you

Me - Good, busy

Terry - I got a new phone, that’s why I haven’t called you. Can I get your number again?

Me - (inching my way out the building) - I’ll be right back...

That was Wednesday. This morning I forgot I was avoiding him like the Bubonic Plague, he cornered me again.

Terry- I haven’t seen you since you said you’ll be back, so it’s like that?

Me - (getting on the elevator) - No, not at all, bye!

Confessions

So I've been holding on to a few secrets, that need to be unloaded, in no particular order...

1. I've been thinking about moving out of the Country a lot more lately

2. I think guys that are smart are hot!

3. I walked pass my old gym, and thought about joining again just for the eye candy...it makes no sense because my gym is in Virginia, but I live and work in DC...

4. Now that I'm starting fresh with new guys, I feel like I need to do some other "drastic things"

5. I love watching hot (in every sense of the word) men run, who have nice bodies, and take their shirts off. One almost caused an accident last summer. WARNING: do not drive while breaking your neck to look at the hot jogger, forget talking on the cell phone & driving, driving & gawking should be against the law

6. I can't wait for warm weather

7. I'll rock a "hoochie" dress with class, and turn around and wear a business suit the next day...

8. I'm not a label whore

9. Victoria's Secret is my favorite online store, I'm a pantie whore. I LOVE cute panties...I hate bras

10. I think I really liked Tony for the sex, but he had to go and mess everything up with his bi-polarness, random banter, weirdness...damn him

11. I thought about becoming celibate, but that's like me saying I'm going to stop drinking. I'm going to become celibate...

12. I really do like Brian, a lot, but he SLORES way too much for me. I'm going to get him a going away present. A t-shirt that reads "Reformed Slut" or "I'm in Sluts Anonymous"... he'll like it. Trust me

13. (We're still on Brian) The fact that he slept with Monster's Inc. was such a turn off. I don't think I can look at him the same

14. He's still sexy

15. I need to get back into the gym

16. I hate, absolutely hate online dating...I'm thinking about doing it though...I'm bored

17. I haven't had a good cry in a long time, I mean a good one, I feel like I need one just to balance things out, but then again, I love being in my Happy Place...can't remember the last time I cried.....hmmm

18. I went to a nudest beach, I didn't intend on getting naked, but someone blasted me out, and was like, "she's not naked!!!" Security came over and told me I had to get naked...WTF?

19. I wonder how long I can stay on the wagon. I went a record of 10 days once...

20. I fantasize about romping with Brian, well until the Gremlin incident. But I don't actually want to have sex with him ( I think), it will ruin the fantasy...although 2, count them 2 of my friends are trying to be bad influences, and told me I should romp with him before he goes to Texas....bad friends, bad...

21. I'm tired as hell, but can't fall asleep, maybe I should have a glass of wine...wait, I'm on the wagon...

Epiphany in the Shower

"Showers are where I come up with some of my greatest ideas." - Diva

So this morning as I was showering, I had an epiphany! I didn’t want to talk to any of the guys anymore. The guys being Mr. Henry, Tony & the Old Man. Before I lost my balls (figuratively speaking), I began making the moves. The first one on the list Tony.

Tony - Came over last night. As we were laying there having pillow talk, he asked me a question I absolutely despise. “So, why aren’t you in a relationship”. I mean I really, really hate that question. Maybe it’s the way a guy says it, or maybe it was the fact that he asked me after we fooled around, but it’s so loaded. It’s like he’s trying to figure me out or size me up. I wanted to retort, and say “cause you’re a manic depressive and I only like you for the sex”, but I didn’t. I gave him some b.s. answer and changed the subject. We talked awhile longer about him going to therapy, not working, (nor looking), and about other nonsense, then he left.

I know it’s not right, but I sent him a text this morning. 1) I knew he would be asleep, 2) I had to do it right then and there before I changed my mind 3) I wanted it to be the first thing he see’s when he gets up.

Mr. Henry was next. He doesn’t light my fire. That’s it. I like him, but I don’t wanna have sex with him anymore. I called him after I sent Tony a text.

Me: You up? Did you go to the gym?

Mr. Henry: Yeah, I woke up late, I’m gonna go tonight

Me: I decided I don’t want to have sex with you anymore because I want a relationship (lie), and I know you don’t want one (true), so I think we should just be friends. Don’t get me wrong the sex is good (not anymore), but it’s getting in the way.

Mr. Henry: You’re right, I’m not ready for that

Me: Good, but we can still be friends, ok, get ready for class, I gotta go

Last but not least...the Old Man. I called him, but I knew he was at work, and the conversation would be too loaded and he’d have a million f’n questions.

Me: Good Morning

Old Man: What? You called me? I can’t believe it, Kitten never calls me in the morning

Me: Yep, hell must have froze over

Old Man: You sound good, it is cold outside. How are you my dear?

Me: I’m good. We need to talk.

Old Man: About what?

Me: Relationships, us. I know you are at work, so tonight ok?

Old Man: Do you want to come to my place?

Me: No.

Old Man: Why?

Me: Because I don’t.

So that’s it, in a nutshell. No more romping with Tony or Mr. H, no more dating the Old Man. Just tired of them... In other news, I may be going on a date tonight with someone new...we’ll see how I feel.

Monsters, Drinks, & No Hangovers: The Weekend In Review

Friday Night

Sometimes I wonder when am I going to get tired of partying. I hung out Friday night. I mean REALLY hung out. I Started at 6pm with happy hour free drinks, that you can't turn down, because well it's FREE. Met a few people out, but no one could hang like Brian & I. We went to three spots, yep three!

And of course we were up to our usual antics of clowning around. Everything from dancing in a burger place, while wearing a crown on my head, to telling people he was my brother...there goes any possibility of us having sex, cause it would be like incest now, right... but we had soooo much fun, we did it all!!!

The next morning he sends me a text:

“I’m gonna kick ur ass”

I call him.

Me: No you’re not sucka, what’s up

Brian: You let me go home with a Monster last night

Me: (ROTFL) Ha! No I didn’t. I told you I was leaving, I told you she wasn't cute, you didn’t want to go. Did you wake up and want to gnaw your arm off for the fear of waking her?
(Disclaimer: I'm sure the girl is nice, but I knew he'd be mad in the morning!!!)

Brian: Damn, I thought of that too, yes...

Me: Well we're even!
(Long story, re Tony hearing Brian in the backgound on our way to the second club, thought I was on a date... yes I called him, but it was the alcohol...)

Saturday

Was pretty much a bust. I was still tired and worn out from Friday. I told Tony, Jailbird, and Mr. Henry I would hang with them, but called none of the above, until like 1am.

Sunday

Was so nice outside, I wanted to just bask in the sunshine and warmth all day. I hung with the Old Man.

SIDE NOTE: I’ve been doing the slow fade with him, because I have a HARD TIME having the “I don’t want to see you anymore talk”. So I don’t answer his calls or text messages as much anymore and I no longer see him like 3 days a week, like we used to.

We went to the movies, walked the streets of Georgetown, then we went to dinner (Another side note: I paid for the movie snacks and half of dinner, but he was like “are you sure”?). He was ok, but a little annoying. To celebrate the warmth, I wore a mini skirt, button down, and boots, not really summer or winter wear, but somewhere in-between. He kept trying to feel my legs up. I had to smack him each time his hands got anywhere near em’. He’s super duper touchy feely, but in a way, that’s annoying. Kind of like, a fly that harasses you all day, and you just want to swat it and squash it, until it flies no more.

He told me that I’m acting different....“ya think”. I told him he was annoying and he annoyed me. He thought it was funny, but I was telling the truth!

The Thrill Is Gone

I’m bored with the guys again. Brian and I determined that we probably have ADD. A few times when we were in Jamaica, when we were forced to sit for long periods of time, we became bored, hyper, thrill seekers. These guys, I swear, are just BLAH sometimes. Case in point, the Old Man. Monday, he invited me over for music, snacks and games. He kept asking me what I wanted, since he’s a vegetarian. I told him to be creative, to pick up some things, I’m not that picky. Well he bugged the F out of me, until I sent him a list. You would think after a year of hanging out, he’d get it.

Here’s a summary of what’s going on lately.

Old Man - So last week we went to dinner. Mind you, I was still a little jet-lagged, happy, and nostalgic about my good times in Jamaica, so I was pretty chill. Just going with the flow. The Old Man picked the restaurant, a vegetarian Indian place downtown. I’m not a vegetarian, but whatever, I love Indian food, so I was cool. The bill comes. He looks at me. I tell him to take care of it this time, and I’ll get it later. He then says, he “took care of it last time”. WHAT??? Are you F’n serious? I then, nicely point out I took care of the movies that same night and that it was his idea to go to dinner, he chose the place, and I just got back in town and couldn’t do it. He makes a BIG production out of it. He puts his glasses on, lays the bill on the table, asks me if I want to see it.

Me: No

Old Man: You don’t want to see the bill?

Me: No. I’m not paying for it, you are. I’d leave a tip but I don’t have enough cash on me. I told you, I’d take care of it next time.

He left a bad taste in my mouth. When it comes to paying for things, he always tries to show me the receipt and make a big production of something, as if to say “See how much money I am spending”. When I pay for something, I give them my debit card, I never tell him (or anyone) how much it is. End of story. When we go out, I pick the bill up about 30-40% of the time. But the 60% of the time he does it, he makes a gigantic F’n deal out of it.

I hate that.

When I hung out with him Monday, things weren’t THAT bad. We had a good time, but I've been thinking a lot lately about how to end it. It's not him. He hasn't changed. I've seen the "Light". I don't want a future with him, and I'm bored/tired of what we are doing now. Nothing. Everything's the same. No surprises with him. Boring, monotonous, someone just shoot me now, I'd have more fun at the hospital!!!

Tony - Tony is .... “unbalanced”. He’s on medication, I think. At least that’s what he said awhile ago. Maybe he’s off his meds, which is code for “it’s time for ME to exit the train”. Saturday night was good. We spent time with each other. Sunday morning, we laid around. I fixed him breakfast. He complains, that he only eats egg whites. WTF??? He doesn’t eat meat, he doesn’t eat chicken, he doesn’t eat flour, therefore he doesn’t eat bread or crackers, he doesn’t drink milk, or eat dairy products. He says, he has a sensitive stomach...Damn Pansy. So whatever. He eats it. Loves it. I have a morning appointment to get to, so I shower, then we leave. That night he calls me, I didn’t hear my phone. When I checked it and called him back, he answered. He sounded stressed or something, and says he’ll call me back. I don’t hear from him.

Monday I called him to see if he’s ok.

Tony: I’m just going through some things. I’m going to get back into therapy.

Me: What’s wrong?

Tony: Well I can’t really talk about it right now, but we’ll talk later

It’s time to put him to rest. Adios Tony. Adios.

Brian - Just friends. So I had to get a guys perspective on Brian...more importantly a guy who is similar to Brian and is the male version of me. My best guy Chuck. Gotta love him. Stopped me from being the "girl" and helps me when I get in a tough situation...the solution, from page 121 of the manual. Brian and I are "Just Friends". Maybe years down the line, when we stop telling each other about our sexual conquests. But for now, he’s in my Friend Box, and I’m in his.

Close Call

I was scared shitless. Tony spent the night last night. We did the usual, attempt to watch a movie, horizontal dance, talk...then he asked to look something up on You Tube. Now normally, I'm not over protective of my laptop, but well...let's see. All he had to do was push the dropdown button, and all of my LITTLE DIRTY SECRETS would be aired...including my blog.

He kept telling me I looked tired, and I should lay down & go to sleep. All I could do, was peep over his shoulder...although my eyes were clearly drooping. I finally got him to give up his search for whatever drummer he was looking for & to come to bed. Whew. Close Call!

I never thought about what I would do if one of the guys found my blog. Mr. Henry, the Old Man & Brian know I have A blog...but they don't know what exactly it is, or how to find it, or that I blog about THEM. Awhile ago, pre-Jamaica, I thought about sending the link to Brian, but changed my mind because I like having the anonymity, and it's my outlet. Recently I thought about sending it to Brian, but then caught feelings, and decided against it.

Damn, I have to be on my P's & Q's now. Looks like I'll be deleting the history of recent sites visited more often!!!
