Maybe A Shot Of Vodka Would Be Appropriate Now...

Tonight, after coming from a work networking event, I was doing my nightly blog crawl (when I read/lurk on other blogs) and my inbox popped up with a new message. Of course I opened it, and it was a really nice thoughful comment from Anonymous. I was appalled at the joy in the message immediately reacted, and typed out a long response, pasted below for your reference. In any case I deleted it a few minutes later. Why? Well, after reading what I posted and what Anonymous posted, I felt like I had every right to overreacted. Call it hormones, lack of DICK, lack of VODKA, or whatever you may...but I generally don't get my panties in a bunch. In fact, I like bullshit "constructive criticism" and other people's points of view. Sometimes it makes me look at something differently, sometimes it offers a new perspective from what my friends and I chat about, and sometimes it's just pure comedy. I don't expect people to agree with me I know I'm right all of the time, and with everything I do...call it infinite knowledge rebellion or whatever, but I always kind of marched to my own drum beat, or rather my theme songs that play in my head when I walk into a room. That being said, I do appreciate and love some all comments, suggestions, dialogue and other points of views. However, if it's an attack on me...do be prepared for my now pms, vodka induced, lack of dick response.  Feel free to comment!

Response In Question...

@ Anonymous - WTF???? Hold on, let me re-phrase that... WHAT THE FUCK??? Clearly, you aren't a follower of the blog, and I respect that, as well as your opinion. However, how many posts have you actually read? How many e-mails have you sent or questions have you asked?

You clearly, clearly, clearly, don't know what the fuck you are talking about...If you are trying to make a point, it's lost. If you are referring to a guy, that I'm sprung off...who could it possible be, that was mentioned here? Brian??? We've never had sex, Mr. Henry, we've known each other for 8/9 years now. The Old Man...nope never horizontally tangled with him. Tony??? I've known him for over a year...

Yes, I've had sex with other guys, but in no way, shape or form do I think sex is going to keep a man. If I CHOOSE TO HAVE WILD, HEAD BOARD BANGING SEX it's because I want to, and I USE PROTECTION...

I've never used sex to gain favors or give favors... or anything else...so, maybe you should read everything before passing JUDGMENT on me...then if you still feel the same way...put a stick up your ass...(as Brian says...respect mon)

However. I do appreciate your comment and hopefully I answered some questions for other people who may have been curious...keep em' coming... I so do appreciate the candidness

Wow. Some people are just plain stupid. If you don't like the blog don't read it. It is simple. And keep your simple ass comments to yourself

Dani B - At first I was extremely pissed, but after re-reading & sleeping it off, I don't take it that seriously. I just think it came across a little rude & judgemental...people are entitled to their opinions, yet, I would think, someone could get their point across without "attacking" me, or anyone else. it's all love here. I'm not mad...

Yeah, I had a feeling you'd respond to the Anonymous attack. I was wondering where your comment was after reading theirs and then I saw this newest post and I was like, "Ah I see now". Yeah whoever that is, they totally missed the entire point of each post and the blog as a whole.

But, anyhow, good that you slept it off. We're human, we're gonna react to personal attacks to us, but when we put personal stuff out in the open we have to prepare ourselves for personal responses, which I see you have, which is great! It just irritates more when people make judgements based off on knowing little to nothing about who you are as a person.

i agree with danib. if you don't like it you don't have to read but then again on the flip side when you put things out on the net it opens up dialogue (both negative and positive). i guess that just goes along with having a public blog. i personally wouldn't write some type of ignorance on a person's page even though i think it sometimes.

people are going to be judgmental no matter what. shake the haters off dc. :-)

I was on another one of my favorite blogs, but got a little turned off. this blogger deletes comments she dont like, and bashes people who don't like what she says.

I feel if you have a blog, and you put your opinion out there, and you allow comments, then you have to suck it up and understand that people will disagree with you.

If you dont want to hear it..then dont blog. keep your opinion to yourself.

People should be able to respond however they wish, as long as their isnt any name calling, and you dont go below the belt, it should be expressed.

With that said, People can run their blogs how they wish, if they want to ban people and delete their comments simply because they dont like them. So be it too.

I love your blog DC DIVA, I consider myself "different" also and say alot of stuff people dont agree with or want to hear. keep blogging the way you do..and dont feed the trolls (a common message board term for people who post just to start stuff)

I dont have enough followers tho to bash me so....(lmao)

@ Tunde - just brushed my shoulder off...as said before, I'm cool.

@True2Me - Thanks for the comment. I don't delete comments. There's only been one that was "junk" advertising. That's why I approved Anon's comment...in any case, it was ignorant & below the belt. I surely appreciate comments, and welcome them, and now I just have to be prepared for all of them.

The thing people don't understand, is, this is my dating blog, there are so many other facets and parts of me that I don't talk about, like the fact that I volunteer almost on a weekly basis, or that I started my own business, or that I work part-time by choice, so I can have free time to myself...that's not for this blog. I actually enjoy blogging about dating and relationships...after dates I always called/e-mailed my friends to let them know, who did what, and what crazy person was peeking through my window...sometimes it's pure comedy, and a lot of times, I just need to get it off my chest. In any case, I value everyone's opinion, even the not so P.C. ones. However, there's no need for rudeness...

So since tonight is Friday, and it's my official party day (as is every day, that ends in Y is) Let's all take a shot!!!

@ Cheekie - "when we put personal stuff out in the open we have to prepare ourselves for personal responses" - Yeah, I put a lot of my business out there. That's why I choose not to post pictures, etc. I don't want to run into any crazies on the street, lol. In any case, it's all good. I'm not going to stop blogging. It's like my journal...that you can read

I just found your dating and really enjoy reading your dating stories.
How do you find so many men? Where do you fid them?

Just seems like most of them are pretty crazy and just have no idea how to date a girl. It is really horriblly cringing that they are so inept and have no manners. Especially the "James" guy getting drunk, whne you were againsts it. Being late and then wanting ti stay at your place. Absolute craziness.

Good luck.

Some people right...we open a little piece of who we are to the world and sometimes folks just don't get it. But if you don't like it keep it moving no need to call names. Glad you took the high road and did what true bloggers do, write a post about it.

Side note when I read his comment I was like hell to the no...but then I calmed and said Diva will shake this hater off!

Truth is you never really know who is reading your blog. As said below, by blogging our thoughts and opinions, we leave our views to criticism. Personally I welcome it, and I welcome others opinions. Even if it is different from mines. I dont have to take it or agree with it, and if it is in aways insulting or made in an attacking way, I do have a right to remove it or ignore them just as they have a right not to read it at all.

I mean truth is we follow peoples blogs who we find interesting or who have similar views or are just entertaining. but as with anything on the web, you will always have haters and people who just want to get to you.

so keep blogging and keep being you.
