Operation New Guy: Day 3

I met this guy “Danny” last Saturday, when Brian & I were out. He was pretty cute from what I remember. The vodka goggles were put away. So anyways, “Danny” text me on Tuesday & yesterday. After developing slight digit finger carpal tunnel, I told him to call me. We had a pretty decent conversation. He’s a personal trainer. Home grown (from DC, MD, VA), early 30’s. He asked me what I had up for the weekend, read: not a formal date request. I told him I was busy today, but Saturday or Sunday were good. I’ll update you as we make progress. Right now, he has some cool points, sans for the constant texting, which Latino Papi Alex never grew out of.

Speaking of Latino Papi Alex, he sent me yet another text. I still haven’t responded. At first, I thought it was a lack of English/Spanish translation, but nope, all of his text messages are in English, with the exception of a “Mami” thrown in here or there. Speaking of Latino’s, I met another Papi Chulo, translation: cute Latino American. Actually, he’s a Puerto Rican Papi Chulo, “George”. Very, very cute. But get this...he works in my building!!!

I guess it’s inevitable. I spend about 25% of my time at work, so, well it’s only natural, right??? IDK

Anyways, his approach was way better than the security guard. After months of flirting, and helping with my Spanish (ok, not really, I retained like four words), George gave me his number on Wednesday, after inviting me to his upcoming show (he’s an aspiring Reggaeton singer/rapper or something). And he said: “You can call me anytime, 24 hours a day”!

Hmmm.

the "you can call me anytime, 24 hours a day" seems a little desperate to me. one lesson i learned in courting is never make yourself always available. he might be a cool guy though. i've never tried to talk to anyone that i've worked with. *disclaimer* i've only had one real job in my life. lol.

@ Tunde - My experience with guys not born here, is that they are very forward. I don't think he's bad, it took him about 3 months to get that far. I don't plan on seeing him seriously though, because of the "he works in my building" issue...the other issue might be ambition as well :/ or lack thereof

1 real job? Do tell!!!

@ Anon. - It's all about getting out. I'm hardly home in the evenings! good luck

Wow! Call him any time, 24 hours a day? Does that mean he doesn't have a life and will be sitting around waiting to hear from you?

@ Blah, blah, blah - Thanks for visiting...I always try to have fun!!! Fun, fun, fun...

Uhhhh, maybe it's just me...the 24hr. thing didn't bother me, because he gave me HIS #, plus he's not from here, so I chalk it up to an International thing...that's not the first time a guy has said that to me...IDK, maybe if he was from around the way, it would have bothered me...

The Archives will catch you up!

@ Christin...make it a point to get out the house atleast 3 times a week, and if you are in "Book Club" - drop it :) Guys don't go to book club!!! Or only go once a month!

@ StrgBlkwmn - I hope so! Naw, I'm just kidding! He's not boyfriend material, but I'd date him for fun

@Tunde - I used to live near there...SW to be exact, in walking distance to Zanzibar & H2O ,,,,aaaah the good ole days! Now I'm on the other side of town! I can no longer walk to the Mall or Capitol...
